PostSecret: Throwing Up
If you are abusing your body by bingeing, purging or starving, you are teaching your child how to have an eating disorder. I learned how to binge by bingeing with my father. This postcard from PostSecret showed me how my father must have felt when he realized he had passed his eating problems on to me.
PostSecret‘s beneficiary is the National Hopeline Network. It is a 24-hour hotline (1 (800) SUICIDE) for anyone who is thinking about suicide or knows someone who is considering it.

It’s amazing and sad the bad habits that we can pick up from our parents (and as adults ourselves, continue to pass these bad habits on to our children).
My 4 year old son and I already have discussions about healthy eating and how the occassional treat is okay, as long as we don’t go overboard.
I pray every day that my children won’t struggle with there weight, as I have.
I’m proud to say that when I’m on the treadmill, jogging, my boys run circles around the room, swinging their arms and saying “I’m jogging! I’m exercising!”
