Ask Laura: I’m Feeling Cold
Laura,
So many have the symptom of feeling cold after losing weight but no one has said why this happens and what they have done to fix it.
My friend just lost close to 200 lbs and is suddenly feeling cold and doesn’t know how to get warm. Any suggestions.
Marie
Marie,
I bring a sweater or cardigan wherever I go. I even bring it during the summer because so many places have the A/C blasting. REI (or a sporting goods store) has some jackets that fold up in a tiny little envelope that you can take out of your purse and wear if you suddenly get the chills.
I’ve stopped saying “It’s cold†when I’m feeling cold because everyone else argues. Instead, I say, “I’ve got the chills.†Everyone seems to understand that.
Good luck, Laura Moncur

Getting a good workout sometimes warms me up but I am not sure it will for everyone.
PS Leaving an extra jacket in the car might work and maybe getting a hat.

For my Raynaud’s, the doctor told me to wear thin gloves inside the house the prevent cold attacks and then just put another pair of gloves on over those when I go outside. Hot tea is always good too.

Hi Laura,
I just want to ask you that I dont feel cold during the day but when it comes to the evening, I start getting chills.
Can you tell me why is that? Is possible, how do i make myself feel better.
Thank You
