Wii Fit: First Look
After a lengthy quest all throughout the city, Mike and I finally found a Wii Fit. I set it up and it told me that I was fat (I knew that already) and made my poor little Mii character a short and pudgy icon after weighing me. I had no idea that the Wii Balance Board was also a scale, but it doubles in that capacity. When compared to my high-tech digital scale in the bathroom, it reads quite accurately.
The first time we played with the Wii Fit, I forgot to wear my heart rate monitor, but I did get a good sweat on. The most fun Balance game to play was the Soccer Heading. You can see a video of it here:
We had plenty of laughs while I tried to dodge the soccer cleats and panda heads. I will be working out with Wii Fit for the next couple of weeks and give you more feedback about how many calories I burn while playing and how effective a workout it is.

I’m interested to hear what you think. I got mine about four weeks ago and am completely addicted. I’m always at the gym, but recently I’ve been finding myself getting up an extra hour early to beat my scores from the day before! Boyfriend doesn’t get as much time on it as me…!
Just wait until you start unlocking the advanced bits!
If this is the future of “games consoles” I’m happy!

All I have to say is that I got up a little early this morning, so I could get weighed and do a little Yoga. Me. Yoga.
There’s no one to feel silly in front of when I nearly fall over (and I do). I even tried to “running” mini-game, which I found to be entertaining as well as sweat-inducing. I even tried to walk the tight rope and do a little step class (that was hard to keep up for the terminally uncoordinated).
I’ll be the first one to admit here that I’m not at all in shape, so making me break a sweat isn’t hard. But this game promises to get me off my backside more often.

I’m looking forward to hearing about this too! I have Wii, but not the Wii fit-YET. Please let us know how you felt about it- it’s nice to change up your routine!

I got my Wii fit for Mothers Day this year and have to say I love it. I am someone who feels uncomfortable going to the gym, this gets me moving and I can work out in my pj’s in the morning. The best part is my children ( who range in age between 8-15) love it too. What a great way for them to expend a little energy during rainy days and cold Indiana winters!
