Running on the Run
In answer to the Question of the Week, here is an entry from Jank at the Complete Running Network:
Jank has some great ideas about exercising when you’re traveling. He has a “P” filled list to remind you how to do it:
- Pack it in
- Plan ahead
- Prioritize
- Plunder
- Postpone
- Proxies
- Promenade
To find out what each of these list items entails, head on over to The Complete Running Network and read Jank’s entry.

….so now I am coming up to my first ann’y of running as well as my 51st birthday. Running with goals has changed my life, fitness level and self image. Today I’m reflecting on the importance of stretching and cross-training, after coming off of a hamstring injury that kept me out for six weeks. In between, swimming, cycling and a bit of physical therapy have worked wonders. I continue to be inspired by running and my fellow runners. Here is to the next 10-miler, working up to it slowly of course!

….oops, I was just blogging and now realized I was to answer the question re: traveling! Here’s my fix: pack good running shoes and appropriate running attire for weather, check in with area running groups ahead of time for paths, safe running areas, etc. Then: DO IT! Better yet, for short trips, stay at hotels with good fitness centers & hop on the treadmill.
